Is NovaELD really FMCSA registered?

Self-certification is pending. FMCSA doesn't pre-approve devices — they accept self-certifications and list the device on their registered list. We're preparing the submission now and will publish the registration number the day it goes live. Until then we say "FMCSA self-certified per Part 395 Appendix A — registration pending" and don't claim "approved."

What hardware do I need?

NovaELD supports common ELD modules including PT-30, Geotab GO9, and Samsara VG34. If you're already using one of those, we can swap the cloud without changing hardware. If you're starting fresh, we'll ship you Geotab GO9 units at wholesale (~$15–20/unit/month amortized).

How do I migrate my historical records from my current ELD?

Your existing ELD vendor is required by 49 CFR §395.22(i) to give you a full export of your records on request. We help you draft that request, then load the data into NovaELD. Your driver and vehicle history transfers cleanly.

What about Russian / Spanish / Polish drivers?

Our driver app is multilingual. Llama 3.3 70B handles natural conversation in 30+ languages, and Telegram / WhatsApp messages auto-translate between driver and dispatcher.

How do alerts work for drivers?

Each driver picks their channels: SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, push, email, voice call. Critical events (malfunction, red-stop DTC, ELD disconnect) fan out across all enabled channels. Quiet hours respected for non-urgent items. TCPA opt-in tracked per regulation.

Do you have a public API I can integrate with?

Yes — same REST API our own dashboard uses. OAuth 2.0 for 3-legged apps acting on behalf of carriers, or API keys for server-to-server. View the OpenAPI spec. Free developer tier: 10k calls/month.

NovaELD is built by NovaTrans LLC. Designed by people who actually run trucks (Phoenix Freight, 100+ tractors) and got tired of paying $100+/truck/month for software that didn't have an API.

What happens if Cloudflare goes down?

Driver app is offline-first: duty status changes, DVIRs, document captures all write to local SQLite first, then sync when connectivity returns. The Output File for roadside inspection generates on-device too, so even a full cloud outage doesn't block compliance.
